Photos and Descriptions

Along the highway in Flagler, Colorado is the famous I-70 Diner.  And, oh yes, they have a pink Cadillac on a pole.
The I-70 Diner originated in Fargo, North Dakota (under a different name, of course) but fell into disrepair due to poor business and was closed.
The current owner purchased it and trucked it in six pieces to it's present location in Flagler, Colorado.
Flagler is a beautiful small town which is located in the middle of nowhere.
It is now a bright, shining, booming business and is known around the world.  It was featured on the Food Channel.

The way to Colorado Springs is to turn south-west at Limon, Colorado onto US-24.
This is a beautiful rural highway through high plateau farm and horse country.
There are only a few very tiny towns along the way in over 85 miles.

On the south side of Colorado Springs is a park, Garden of the Gods
In this park is a geological feature of a balancing rock.
My mother's father and two brothers visited balancing rock in 1918.  We have a photo of them with the mule they rode in on.
My sister and nieces visited the same rock a few years ago.
So, naturally, I had to stop by when in the general area.  There are people constantly teeming all over the place.
Most want to have a photo of them "balancing" the rock.

From Colorado Springs, C and I rode north on I-25 to Denver.  Through town and then heading west on I-70 A few miles west of Denver, is Evergreen, Colorado.
We found a Quality Inn Suites that was the most luxurious place we stayed.
Two large rooms with two large flat screens, on the second floor with a balcony and an unsurpassed view .
