Previous Day |
Lemons? Lemonade!
We are alive and well and soon will be whole again (except for my
wallet)
The bike will be all repaired and healthy on this
coming Tuesday.
In the meantime, we are back on the road and in Kingman, Arizona.
We decided to rent a car and spend the time having fun
exploring Arizona and visiting some familiar and .some new places.
Today, we arranged for care and feeding of the trailer
while we were away. Hired an Enterprise (we'll pick you up) rental
car.
And then went to Buddy Stubb's HD to Visit Bella and see what damage she
suffered. Pretty bad. Eroded head, broken piston, spun
connecting rod bearing. Sigh.
After a late start, we drove from Phoenix up to Kingman through some very pretty country.
Saguaro cacti and Joshua trees and lovely geology, unfortunately it was
all arid waste lands. |

About and hour and a half out, we were thrilled to see a friendly BK |

Highway 93 seems to go on for an awfully long way. |

Surprising anything can live out there, but there is life, including
some very hardy people |

Did I mention that it seems like a long road? |

The geology is varied with obvious signs of multiple, past volcanic
events. |

Typical ancient sea bed uplifted with eons of erosion. |

Little town of Wikieup |

Finally to Kingman. Downtown is pretty depressed. There was
what looked like a very nice little Italian restaurant. When we
returned for dinner, they closed just as we approached. The door
did not mention specific closing time, they close when they run out of
customers. |
