I woke up in
Merrillville I milled around in the hotel knowing that today would be a very short day. Finally, after breakfast I hit the road  The weather is nice and no rain in sight |
My first stop was
Gary, Indiana as
in the movie and play "Music
Man"
 Somehow I found the Michael Jackson Family Home and went by for a photo This is where MJ and all his brothers and sisters lived as children |

Next, I headed over to
Munster for the
last HD dealer for this trip (not counting where I turned in the bike)  Calumet Harley-Davidson was very quiet on a Tuesday morining |

I headed into Chicago, IL with a couple spare
hours on my hands What to do? What to do? I've got it! The Museum of Science and Industry! This meant a ride up Lake Shore Drive with my last views of Lake Michigan. 
 Of course, a couple hours was nowhere near enough, but any amount of time is terrific |
It is a very impressive set of buildings
 One of the first displays you see is a huge, streamlined train |

An even larger display is the German U-Boat 505 captured during World War II 
 The U.S. Navy gleaned a lot of secret technology from this boat |
No museum in the mid-west would be worth its salt without a tractor and
combine

One of the highlights for me was the large model train display

Ah, a Boeing 727. At one point in three months a bunch of fellows
and I flew at least 40 trips on one of these birds 
 Ours were flown by Pacific Southwest Airlines, PSA 
 In real life they had three-and-three seating and not displays on the seat backs. The right picture above shows the D.B.Cooper exit door |

This is the third museum I visited this trip with airplanes hanging from the ceiling at various angles

My last stops today were in
Glenview I made a stop at a Post Office to mail a package home and lighten the load Then I filled the tank and turned the bike in to Chicago Harley-Davidson Kind of made made me a little sad. We had been friends for over 1,700 fun, interesting, long miles and had seen many wonderful sites and sights
