Southeast States Trip Day 11 Thursday June 4, 2015

Today is from Greensboro, NC to Raleigh, NC
Returning the bike to the dealer
The last riding day this trip

Places Visited Along The Way, Photos, and Notes

I had a restful morning at the La Quinta in Greensboro, NC
Getting on the road about 9:00
The sky was heavily overcast
and the windshield was very misty

Heading east on I-40, I spotted a billboard for a Harley dealer
that I had not come across in my research.
I had it in my database but had not connected it to this trip
Naturally, I stopped at Down Home Harley-Davidson

Next stop was in Hillsborough, Orange County, NC
"O" counties are sometimes tough for me to get
The only one in California being Orange County
and that is very far away so I took advantage of the opportunity

Behind the Orange County Courthouse, is the Sheriff
The parking lot was full so I just stopped in front of the door
No one bothered me. I wonder if security could be tighter
at some of these places. I guess I don't look all that threatening.

Chapel Hill, NC the home of University of North Carolina
As I pulled off, it was raining pretty good and I was getting wet.
I stopped and put on full rain gear and decided
it was too wet to linger and take photos
so I moved on.

Durham, NC is the home of Duke University
I had planned on a photo session there as well
Again, the rain prevailed and I skipped

Due to a very wet day,
and due to more than planned progress in the last few days,
there were few stops and few photos today

I arrived Raleigh, NC just about noon

I incorrectly entered the address of the Comfort Inn - Raleigh
at which I had reservations and the GPS
took me to a very run-down section of the city.
Realizing this, I knew about where I was and found the motel

I turned in the motorcycle to Ray Price Harley-Davidson
from whom I had rented it.
I took photos all around to show that it was returned in good shape

Victor, a really nice guy in charge of rentals
gave me a ride to the motel. Much appreciated.

Now on foot, I am sad this adventure is near an end
but I am going to be happy to be home.
