Up the Pacific Coast Day 4 Sunday September 9, 2018

Today starts in Reedsport, Oregon
And finishes in The Dalles, Oregon

Places Visited Along The Way, Photos, and Notes
There were two purposes for this trip first, to see family, second, to sightsee circumstances now dictate that sightseeing will be limited
Continuing north along the Oregon coast. Then planned to head over to Hillsboro Not the fastest roads, but certainly some of the most beautiful. It looked to be a nice, if cool, day
The weather was clear one mile and then foggy the next
The Lane County Justice Court in Florence is another of those buildings that prefers to be incognito, no name
Yachats is a nice little town right on the coast with a distinct new age aura
In Newport, I grabbed a bite at the friendly McDonald's Lincoln County Courthouse, alas, no name
Depoe Bay is a great tourism town right on the ocean In a bit of a hurry today, I must come back and spend some time
In Lincoln City I was able to get a photo of Lincoln County for my "L" county
Heading inland The areas between the coast and I-5 are beautiful several highways wind through, each a great ride
I stopped in McMinnville at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum This is the current resting place for the Spruce Goose I visited here a couple years ago and took lotsa photos Click Here to see photos from both visits feeling pressure of many miles yet to go, I moved on
In the middle of nowhere, a Dairy Queen Sometimes a chocolate dipped, soft ice cream cone is just the thing
I had been trying to reach my younger daughter to coordinate my visit to Hillsboro Unfortunately, we were unable to connect So I reluctantly bypassed this visit
The ride through Portland is alway a nightmare there are a maze of bridges each designed to choke traffic to the maximum extent possible
I-84 along the Columbia River Gorge is beautiful At the end of an otherwise long day, it seems to go on and on In this photo, notice the shadow you can see my arm upreached with the camera

I finally reached The Dalles and settled in to a Comfort Inn. Not a great motel, but familiar
