Today was the last day of my shortened trip No more people to visit, no more new sites to see So I was interested in just heading home
I departed Eureka a little after 8:00 I wanted to gas up, but in the south end of town there are only two chances, I missed one and the other was closed It was overcast and pretty cold, mid 50's Even as the overcast gave way to a little sun it was still pretty cold, low 60's
My tank still had gas from fueling up yesterday just before Garberville, the little "feed me" light came on I stopped and fueled up knowing I would have to again
Today was a mad dash for home, so I did not stop much Garberfille, the first stop was after a 60+ mile segment
In Ukiah, there are two opportunities for ABCs points, Gunnink`s Harley-Davidson for a HD dealer's point and Mendocino County Complex for an "M" county point
I was delighted to find an In-n-Out Burger place in Ukiah and so I had lunch There was a couple there Tim and Cindy on a nice HD who had come in from the Sacramento area today they were thinking of heading over to the coast, Hwy-1
I stopped and gassed up in Novato for my final run home
The Golden Gate Bridge showed a bright, sunny face today Unlike the foggy facade it had shown earlier on my way north, Day 1
Home at last. It took several hours for me to settle down from the rigors of the road
All in all, not the ride I had envisioned and planned due to weather in Washington and fires in northern California. But, it was a great ride with many really enjoyable portions
