| Day's Route Overview: Today I headed almost due South from Remington, Indiana to Bloomington, Indiana by way of Indianapolis. I was not all that interested in stopping to take photos. Although the area is beautiful this time of year, there are not that many points of interest that I know of and I just want a day off from riding. Planned 150 miles. |

| Outside of the motel window is a field of corn.
It is not the sweet corn that we eat, but some other kind.
Perhaps for other food types like the high-fructose corn syrup we
know and love in all our prepared foods. Way back when, when I
was at Falstaff Brewing, they used rail car loads of corn, again not
the type in the supermarket, to brew the beer. This field has a different type of corn every fifth row. I wonder if it some kind of test. Or it may be that they are creating hybrid corn seed for the next generation. |

| Lafayette, Indiana is the home of Purdue University. Their name "The Boiler Makers" harkens back to the 19th century when the high tech thrust was in the boilers in steam engines for railroad locomotives and for factories. I'm thinking that there is not as much call for that knowledge these days, but Purdue is still a top-notch institution | |
| Indianapolis Indiana area. I will be coming down Interstate 65 from the North-West, swinging around the loop counter-clockwise and taking state route 37 South-West toward Bloomington. | |
| Indianapolis to Bloomington is a pleasant hour or so drive. This is the second time that Lola has been to Bloomington. | |
