Willits to San Jose |

Willits to Cupertino -- 192 Miles The last day of a ride is always bitter-sweet. Sorry to end the adventure, it is always good to return home. We did not stop much, initially wanting to get home before the worst heat of the day, and then when within reach of home, anxious to get there |
We left the
Best Western Inn in
Willits early thinking that the day would
soon be hot |
When coming north through
Ukiah,
Gunnink`s Harley-Davidson was closed because it was a Monday This time heading south was 8:30 and the dealer does not open until 9:00. Fearing the coming heat, we opted not to wait but moved on. |
In
Cloverdale we stopped at the
World Famous Hamburger Ranch & Bar-B-Que for a late breakfast
bite |
We were passing through wine country. It seems each year
there are more and more vinwyards. Remember the commercials by the wineries mentioning Napa, Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties? |
To our surprise, it was starting to get overcast. The weather
reports we watched did not mention this |
Our last stop was in Marin City to grab a tea and coffee at the Starbuck`s - Marin City |
Nearing
San Francisco we emerged from the tunnel to find one of those magic
days where the tops of bridge towers were lost in the fog. North tower, south tower and the toll gates. |
Through the Presidio And then through the magic city |
We were so happy to be nearing
San Jose that we took no more photos for
the day It was a good trip overall, not without its trials, but good nonetheless. |
