We headed out from
Bend and the
Quality Inn, fueled up and hit the road
 Carol go her daily back-of-the-helmet photo out of the way early It is not yet 10:00 in the morning and it is already 80 degrees |
We soon hit the pine trees. Maine may call itself the Pine
Tree State, but Oregon is pretty close

Sometimes the photographer gets bored and then gets creative

We passed this guy along the way. I guess even farmers
like to go trailering |

Today is a fairly long day, about 190 miles on two lane biways
so our first leg was long, 66 miles First stop, Chemult is the home of the Big Mountain Cafe been here before, good food, fun Indian collectors plates and western decor, darn, it was closed 
 A little ways down the street is the Wheel Cafe so we stopped there

A little north of a town called
Prospect is
Beckie`s Restaurant. This was our next stop
 The building outside was attractive, inside was crowded, service was slow, and food was just okay I guess if you are the only game in town.... |

At this point, it is starting to get really, really hot.
Our dashboard thermometer is reading about 100 We stopped in a wide spot in the road for a little shade and a little rest  |

The day got really, really hot and we took fewer photos, just
concentrating on getting to the end In Medford, a bank sign read 106 and I think it was accurate But the area we were traveling through was very pretty

We finally reached
Ashland and checked into the
Best Western Windsor Inn - Ashland This is a real nice looking, very large motel with large comfortable rooms |
