Falls Church Budget Inn, Falls Church Last night was not good. The motel room heater made a lot of noise, but proved totally inadequate to warm the room on a very cold night. The room itself had many maintenance issues. I wrote a YELP review and will not be going back! |

Rented a motorcycle at
EagleRider of D.C. 435 S. Washington Street, Falls Church, VA reserved 3/3/14 electra-glide The bike was ready when we arrived and they could not have been nicer. Everything went very well although it took longer than I expected to pack the bike and get ready to hit the road. The day was starting to warm and look very nice. |

From Falls Church to Maryland, the quickest way might be to swing around the beltline, but going through the district is more picturesque 
 
 There were three tall pointy things along the way I had never seen them before, I will have to look them up |

Annapolis,
MD Rommel Harley-Davidson Annapolis open 7 days  Maryland State House It is always fun to visit state capitols. Walked around in the old part of town and had coffee at a little shop voted best coffee for 8 years in a row. It was good 
 
 They seem to like to make things out of brick around here I guess the fear of earthquakes is very low

Queenstown,
MD Cities that begin with "Q" are not all that common. Queenstown Post Office for a city letter "Q" 
 Queen Annes County We found the original county courthouse first built in 1708 A sign listed punishments used back then as flogging, stocks, and hanging. I guess they did not have facilities to lock people up for long periods of time as they do today |

There are two identical bridges that cross Chesapeake Bay Each is two lanes. During commute times, they have three lanes going one way and one the other. So one bridge has traffic going east or west in both lanes and the other is two-way. 
 The lanes are rather narrow so I'm glad we picked the one-way span. Kent Island was originally settled in 1631  |

The final 30-40 miles of the day turned cold and windy. The temperature dropped down to the low 40's and the wind was out of the North-East It felt brutally cold. We stopped by a rest area to get warm. It was about 5:30 and they closed at 5:00. So we took some photos of the flowers and then moved on.  Did I mention that it was c-c-cold? Finally we arrived at Dover, DE and checked into the Fairfield Inn & Suites Dover Aah, warm and comfortable. How nice. |
