Continuing along between |
Dover, DE to King of Prussia, PA - about 110 miles |
Today, a Minor Disaster struck! Fortunately, no motorcycle mishap, but painful nonetheless While transferring photos from the camera to the computer I must have done something wrong. All of today's photos are gone. There might be a glimmer of hope though. When I get home, I may be able to recover the lost files from the memory card. Fortunately, I have a spare memory card but it sure is disappointing. In the meantime, please accept my apologies and enjoy my notes anyway. Update! Am home and I have recovered most of the photos and updated this page. |
Woke up in northern
Dover,
DE and headed out |
After a short jaunt, the first stop was in
Smyrna, DE
at the Rommel Harley-Davidson Smyrna |
Next leg was long and very, very cold. Was hoping it
would warm up, but it remained well below 50 degrees. Lets see, 45 degrees at 60 miles per hour, the chill factor is... Crossed over to New Jersey via a beautiful bridge that cost $5 They seem to like toll roads, bridges, etc. a lot here in the east. |
In
Woodbury, NJ
found the
Gloucester County Courthouse for a county "G" |
Another Rommel Harley-Davidson dealership. This fellow owns five dealerships and will visit four of them. |
Driving in New Jersey is not a treat. The traffic is heavy
and the streets are really beat up. In Mount Ephraim, NJ there is a dealership owned by a woman. Barb`s Harley-Davidson Barb was there talking to customers. Not at all shy, you could her voice across the store. |
Arrived at and toured
Philadelphia, PA This weekend is Easter so most the kids are off on the start or end of their Spring breaks. The city was mobbed. Everywhere I went there was excessively long lines. It was actually starting to warm a little, low 60's. Saw Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and too many to list The Philadelphia Museum of Art the "Rocky Stairs" is in the midst of a large park area not shown very accurately in the movie scene |
It was mid afternoon when we had seen what we wanted in
Philadelphia. Continued west and cut into some of tomorrow's miles. |
The traffic was horrible. Who'd have thought that there
would be heavy traffic on a Friday afternoon of a holiday weekend? Finally got to King of Prussia, PA and booked into Best Western Plus Inn at King of Prussia Ate at a nearby Indian/Pakistani restaurant which was good, but not by our Bay Area standards |
