2013 Calgary Trip Day 15 Saturday August 17

Today's segment of the Calgary trip is between
West Yellowstone, MT and Idaho Falls, ID
This segment is planned for a total of 215 miles.
We went by way of Jackson, WY

Places Visited Along The Way, Photos, and Notes

We headed south through Yellowstone, visited the Grand Teton and then went west into Idaho

Waking up in West Yellowstone (A) in the Best Western Desert Inn, this is the day we say
goodbye to Yellowstone National Park
We entered in the west entrance, adjacent to West Yellowstone,
rode around one fourth of the inner loop and exited the south entrance

While we were traveling through, it suddenly got very smoky
there must be a forest fire somewhere close by that was not there yesterday

South of and immediately abutting Yellowstone is the Grand Teton National Park

We stopped at one of the visitor centers and had an early lunch

Below Grand Teton is Jackson (B). We visited Jackson Hole Harley-Davidson
for a photo to prove we've been to Wyoming
HOG ABC's allow a photo of a dealership to prove a state visit

From here we head east over the Teton Pass

This pass climbs with many grades of 10% and lots of curves
All the way up there was the distinctive odor of overheated brakes
from the cars in the other lane going down.
Once at the summit, the down grade also has many grades of 10%

Victor is a small town in the middle of nowhere
My sister once traveled through eastern Idaho with friends who remarked
Where do these people shop? They must be the ones who buy from QVC
